Daniel 2:20 (ESV) “Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, to whom belong wisdom and might.”

In the 2nd year of King Nebuchadnezzar of reign, he had dreams and a troubled spirit. He commanded all the sorcerers, magicians, enchanters and the Chaldeans to come and 1st tell his dream to him and then 2nd interpret the dream. Now the Chaldeans said they could interpret the dream but there was noon on earth that could tell the King what he had dreamt. This of course angered the king and he ordered all the wise men of Babylon killed.  Word went out and Daniel heard about this and requested an appointment with the King so that he could interpret the dream for the king. So Daniel then asked his companion to seek mercy from God regarding this mystery so he, his companions and all the wise men were not destroyed.

So the mystery of the dream was revealed to Daniel and he blessed the Lord. He blessed the Lord first, then went to the King. Daniel 2:19 says “Then the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision of the night. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven. How often are we blessing God and thanking God first? Thanking God for a good day or thanking God for giving us the strength to make it through a rough day or thanking God for giving us the discernment to deal with negative people.

For myself, this has been an area where the spirit has been working on me. Nudging me to go to God first and simply thank God.

What are your thoughts? Are you thanking and blessing God for the good & the bad?
